Today is International Angelman day
Today we draw attention to Angelman syndrome. Angelman syndrome is a rare genetic disorder associated with developmental delay, epilepsy, speech impediments, motor problems, and behavioral and sleep problems, among other things.
There are approximately 150 children with Angelman syndrome living in the Netherlands. These children have been helped in the ENCORE expertise center since 2010. A lot of research is also done in the ENCORE expertise center, both fundamental and clinical. For example, we participate in the TANGELO trail of Roche.
As the ENCORE expertise center, we have intensive contact with the Dutch parents' association for Angelman syndrome, and we are an active member of the international association for Angelman syndrome. This is how we are committed to patients with Angelman syndrome every day!
